Maria Johnson, OD

Dr. Maria Johnson, OD, is a North Carolina native who has always loved the mountains. After graduating from optometry school in 2003 she spent several years in Washington completing an optometric residency and then fellowship in ocular disease and surgery co-management. During her time in Washington she met her husband, a North Dakota native. They lived in Greensboro, North Carolina for nearly 14 years where they started their family.

In 2021, Dr. Johnson had the opportunity to join eyecarecenter in Boone, North Carolina, a place she has always wanted to call home! This opportunity affords her the chance to enjoy all the high country has to offer with her husband and three boys while providing high quality eye care to her patients.
